Assemble, set-up, manage and maintain mechanical systems within a mobile robot as well as install, operate and trouble shoot mobile control systems.

Carries out mobile robot system design
Assembles a mobile robot according to manufacturer’s documentation
Designs a mobile robot control program
Connects a mobile robot to its control system
Commissions a mobile robot to carry out its correct function to solve a series of practical operational problems
Interprets hard copy and/or electronic forms of manufacturer’s technical documents

Educational Requirements
2-year robotics technology degree program
1-2 Years training both on-the-job experience and informal training with experienced workers
Compulsory subjects: Mathematics and Technology
Recommended subjects: None
Many operators have a Grade 8 Certificate or lower qualification. Some employers, however, give preference to persons with a higher educational qualification, especially when the degree of difficulty of the work is high.
