Description
A Proof Reader reads the trial copy or proof of the material to be printed along with the original copy to be sure there are no errors.
Typical Job Activities
Uses a
standardised code
Records any grammatical, typographical or compositional errors on the proof
Checks the copy and make corrections on the proof while another person (copy
holder) reads the original aloud
Measures dimensions, spacing and positioning of page elements to be sure they
meet the specifications
Returns the proof for correction and later checks the corrected proof against
the original
