Description
A Plant Engineer typically works for power plants and manufacturing establishments. Entry-level positions often deal with maintenance and repair of plant equipment while senior positions are usually managerial in nature.
Typical Job Activities
Does
the performance assessment of foreman and artisans
Facilitates disciplinary hearings
Implements safe work standards and procedures
Ensures adherence to the company Health and Safety standards
Plans maintenance of plant and equipment
Co-operation with operational team to ensure plant throughput and production
targets are met
Supports the Plant Manager in operational duties, including Human Resources
Compiles annual operating cost budget, majors, abnormal budgets
Does the failure analysis and problem solving
Does the engineering for plant optimisation
Managers the team
Does the cost management
Does the stock and inventory management
Implements and maintains engineering standards
Does the equipment specification for procurement
Does the quality management for construction work done on site
Does the quality assurance for equipment fabrication and supply
Does the management of operating spares and consumables for maintenance
Implements planned maintenance system through leading the maintenance risks
assessment, maintenance procedures, approval of the planned maintenance job
cards
