She's the Graduate Development Manager at Rosebank College, and she gave us a sneak peek into her career in the education sector.
Lillian is a National Graduate Development Manager for an education and resourcing company. She gave us a glimpse into her career so we could learn more about her day-to-day life in the education sector.
Lillian tells us that it was by accident that she
followed a career in education. She shares her story: “I came to Rosebank College to interview for another position, and
during the course of the interview the panel decided that I was in fact the
perfect candidate for the Head of Employability position that was open at the
time.”
It was at this time that Lillian found her true passion and a career she believes in. “My passion must have been very evident in the interview,” Lillian says. A few years into education, Lillian now works as a Graduate Development Manager at Advtech Group’s Rosebank College. Not only did Lillian land the job of her dreams but she also took away an important lesson from the experience. “Always let your passion show. It can, and will take you places,” Lillian advises.

“When I joined Rosebank College there was one graduate I started mentoring and coaching. Today not only is he a millionaire, but at 28 years old, he has been named as one of the top 100 young bosses.
“Knowing that I had a hand in his success gives me profound job satisfaction,” Lillian tells us.
Lillian shares with us what else she loves about her job: “I am drawn to young people: their energy, their enthusiasm and their optimism. I love their drive to learn; to acquire knowledge and skills; and to build a future that works for them and for the world they live in now and are set to inherit.”
Lillian’s advice for those who would like to get into her line of work is ensuring that you’re the right fit for the job. “If you love people then you’re a good fit for a career in education.” She goes on to say that people in education need passion in order to help people take charge of their own future. “[You need to help people to] release their potential and achieve the results they value.
“You must value excellence, but understand too that success means different things to different people.”
