The world's strangest jobs have made this Top 10 list. You may hate your current position but be glad you aren't doing number one!
Wouldn't life be great if you could be paid for being a professional sleeper or a fortune cookie writer? However, for every strange and weird job, there's an equally less than appealing one. Here's a countdown to the weirdest jobs in the world.
10. Worm picker
Ever wondered who takes care of digging up the worms used for your fertilised garden? Worm pickers of course. While you're snuggled under the covers, worm pickers are busy walking around grassy areas in search of their next targets. Apparently, rainy days are particularly the best days for picking worms. Once picked, the worms are sorted and packed into containers for shipping to your nearest store.

9. Pet food tester
Not many people can say they've tasted or even sniffed dog food and thought "Mmm... amazing!" Except, Simon Allison who tests pet food for a living. The Marks and Spencer Senior Food Technologist has to taste, chew and smell the pet food to ensure it's of the finest quality. If not, it won't reach the store shelves.
8. Body farm caretaker
If you live for detective dramas, you've probably seen a lot of those CSI episodes in which bodies are exhumed for forensic investigation. However, it's not all just made-up TV stuff. Some poor soul has the responsibility of actually removing decomposed bodies from graves, picking off the maggots and any other insects to allow scientists to examine and investigate the flesh. These investigations bring insight like time or manner of death into murder cases by comparing soil samples and more.
7. Professional sleeper
If your morning alarm is usually followed by 5, 10 or up to 15 snoozes, and in all honesty you'd happily sleep in the whole day, this just might be the perfect career for you. Professional sleepers are paid to participate in sleep studies and research projects that help scientists and doctors determine the mysteries behind certain sleeping disorders.
6. Shark tank cleaner
No, those guys in the shark tanks with cloths or brooms in their hands aren't confused scuba divers. They're shark tank cleaners wiping away any grime in fishing tanks and picking off bits of leftover fish bits and faeces.

5. Chicken sexer
No, you don't have to wait for a chicken to grow its feathers, comb or feet before you can determine its gender. Just by looking at the backside of chicks, chicken sexers can identify and separate female chicks from males. But that's only after years of rigorous training.
4. Road kill cleaner
Next time you drive pass a dead cat, dog, bird, or rat body (Euw!), spare a thought for the road kill cleaners who pick up these carcasses. They have to scrape the dead animals off the road, dump them into their cars only to drive all the way to the next road kill. Only those with a driving licence need apply.
3. Fortune cookie writer
A fortune cookie writer must continuously come up with new and creative short phrases to put inside a fortune cookie. No company wants the same message over and over again... so try to forgive the odd mix up here and there. (Apologies to those who thought the fortunes were real. You should also know Father Christmas isn't real either.)
2. Die inspector
Think meticulous accuracy, precision, perfection... the list goes on for how spot-on dice inspectors need to be when examining the angle and proportions of dice. Even the teeniest, tiniest imperfection can completely throw off a die's balance. Worse still, if these guys don’t do their job properly, their company could be sued. (Fun fact: One die, two dice.)
