If you're not sure whether the person who you call your boss actually likes or dislikes you, these tips will give you an idea about where you stand.
Getting a job is important, but it is equally important to find ways to get along with your boss. And the best way to do that is to do your job well.
If you're guilty for the following, you're probably right about your boss not liking you:
#1 You ask for too much support
Your boss might dislike you because you’re constantly asking for support, which can make you seem incompetent. Also, when you constantly ask for support, you’re taking away from other areas of the job, which can make everyone's job harder. It's okay if you ask when you don't understand, but if you are constantly asking for help when it is not needed, chances are, your boss is not a happy camper.
#2 You're not interested
One of the things that bosses look for when they hire someone is interest. They do this because they do not want to constantly have to motivate you. If you’re not self-motivated, and your boss has to always push you, then yes, your boss probably does dislike you.
#3 Your work isn't up to scratch
There are many people who try to kiss up to their boss. However, this fails badly if you do your work poorly. Good work will naturally get positive attention from your boss.
#4 You're often late
When you show up late, this puts everyone on the job in a bad position. Your boss could dislike you because you’re making it harder for him to do his job.
#5 You moan too much
People have been fired because they did too much whining. No one likes a whiner and your boss might dislike you because you whine too much. If possible, try not to whine at all; your boss will like you far more.
If you think your boss dislikes you and you’re guilty of one or more of
the above reasons, it’s time to change your attitude. If your boss is just a
big grouch and you’re actually a star employee, perhaps it’s time you break up
with your boss and find a new one.
