Marlin completed a two-year Digital Design Diploma before starting in his first job as a Junior Designer. He now has nearly ten of years of design and front-end developer experience, and is still motivated by his desire to always improve the quality and value of the web user’s experience.

A front-end developer builds and develops websites and applications using web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Marlin's role includes combining the purely visual design work with the behind-the-scenes structure created by back-end developers. In short, he is responsible for coding the look of a website.

Find out everything you need to know about becoming a web designer.

Marlin tells us he needs to stay on top of international design and code trends, as he is responsible for creating, testing and implementing the workings of all the visual and interactive elements of the websites he works on.

Marlin’s advice to aspiring designers is this: Think about what you want to achieve, what you love and inspires you – then work hard for it, and sooner than you think you will find yourself on the path to success!
