Description
A Health and Safety Manager monitors the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards, and training of employees on safety policies, procedures, and regulations. They also act as advisors to health and safety administration team regarding projects, tasks, and operations.
Typical Job Activities
Develops
and executes health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal
guidelines
Prepares and enforces policies to establish a culture of health and safety
Evaluates practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to
the law
Conducts training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident
prevention
Monitors compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
Inspects equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
Investigates accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s
compensation claims
Recommends solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention
measures
Reports on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics
