Description

A Mechatronics technician builds engineering systems for the automation industry. Mechatronics is concerned with mechanics, electronics and computer technology. The computer technology element covers information technology applications, programmable machine control systems and technology which enable communication between machines, equipment and people.

Plans and develops new projects
Communicates with marketing teams to determine demand for products
Brainstorms new ideas
Draws up plans and designs
Creates models
Works within budgets
Works together with mechatronic technicians to build a prototype
