Ampath has opened applications for the Technical Internship to start January 2019. 

If you are interested in pursuing a career as a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technician, and you meet the below requirements, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Requirements for a Medical Technologist/Medical Scientist:
• National Diploma in Biomedical Technology/Enrolment in Bachelor of Health Science Medical Laboratory Science.
• HPCSA registration as student/Intern Medical Technologist.
• 5 months work integrated learning in a training laboratory.
• Theoretical knowledge of all subjects completed in National Diploma Biomedical Technology/ Bachelor of Health Sciences Medical Laboratory Science.
• Knowledge of HPCSA regulations.

Requirements for a Medical Technician
• Grade 12 (Matric) with a pass in Mathematics, English (Fluency in English) and Biology (Life Sciences).
• Medical laboratory experience will be an advantage.

• Medical Technologists qualify through achievement of the National Diploma (ND) Biomedical Technology.
• Medical Laboratory Scientists achieve a Bachelor of Health Science in Medical Laboratory Science (BHSc MLS) degree.
• Medical Technicians qualify through achievement of a Certificate of Medical Technician.

After successful completion of the internship, you will be placed in an Ampath lab where you will be employed permanently.
